Gathering Shellfish at Low Tide

Comments - Handsome scene of beauties and young boys gathering shellfish at low tide. At left, three boys dig in the sand, two of them standing in shallow water that covers their feet. At right, two women carry baskets while a third bends forward with her hand to her mouth as the child beside her points out something. A boat is pulled up behind them, and ships can be seen in the distance. Low mountains line the horizon beneath a darkening sky, with the snowy peak of Mt. Fuji just visible at upper left. An interesting design, beautifully detailed, in a large format that would make a nice framed display.
