Battle of Shizu-ga-mine, 1847 - 1850 - Fantastic illustration of the Battle of Shizu-ga-mine in 1583. In the center, a warrior charges ahead on his black horse, his hair blowing in the wind as he stabs an opponent with his spear. His personal standard or sashimono flutters above his back, bearing an image of the Buddhist god Fudu Myoo carrying a sword and surrounded by flames. At left, a samurai stands his ground on a rocky slope, wielding his sword with both hands against a group of enemies thrusting their weapons at him. A fallen warrior lies on the ground behind him as additional troops approach from the left. A pine tree overlooks the water, with a castle nestled among the hills on the opposite shore. A terrific, dramatic image with a handsome natural setting and wonderful detail.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three attached panels. A few small losses at edges, a few wormholes and small holes, repaired. Slight creasing, slight rubbing at left edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
