Here, a waitress carries meals on lacquer trays to the guests at an inn, followed by a young girl helping her. Each tray holds a plate of fish, several covered bowls, and chopsticks. The beauty smiles as she looks back, a gourd print apron tied over her kimono and a towel draped over her shoulder. Above, Hiroshige shows a view of the ferry crossing on the Banyu River. A village can be seen nestled beneath the pines on the opposite shore, and Mt. Fuji appears on the horizon above low white clouds. A charming image. A variant edition with a colored background.
