A smiling woman plays the shamisen as two others play a hand game called ken. A kettle, porcelain cups, bento boxes, and a tobacco set are scattered about the mat spread under a tall pine tree. Wonderful detail in the picnic accessories and a beautiful landscape view. A terrific image of a favorite spring pastime in Japan.
