Mother and Child Reflected in a Water Basin Kakemono

Comments - Charming kakemono or vertical diptych of a young bother carrying her child on her back, pausing to look down at their reflection in a water basin below. She grins happily and the little boy smiles with delight. The beauty wears a shaded blue kimono over a pink floral under robe, tied with a rust and black checked obi. A dipper rests across the edge of the rustic basin. A lovely Edo era design, and a subject by Eizan that we've never come across before.

Artist - Eizan (1787 - 1867)

Image Size - 28" x 9 1/4" + margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing, a few stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
