Shikishiban Paintings - We recently acquired an interesting group of circa 1960s original modern paintings in the shikishiban or square format. Each work is painted on a sheet of paper mounted to a stiff board, the edges trimmed with gold or silver, ready to display. Subjects range from fruit and flowers to landscapes and figures, rendered in a wide range of styles from bold calligraphic strokes to soft washes of color and fine line work. Each includes a signature or red artist's seal, and some have writing on the reverse. A few of the images are dated to the mid- to late-1960s. These expressive images are a great choice for display, and make nice decorative accents. A fun way to add a traditional Japanese format original to your collection.

Condition - This painting with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight toning, slight wear and a few creases at edges. A few paintings have slight soiling or a couple small spots. Please see photos for details. Generally in good condition overall.
