Comments - One of Shunko's masterworks, this portrait of Ichikawa Ebizo in full kabuki makeup is one of the great print portraits of the 18th century. A dramatic, knockout design showing Ebizo, his face painted with red stage makeup, in the lead role for the play "Shibaraku" or "Wait a Minute," frowning as he looks to the side. His flared wig and voluminous robe adds to his imposing appearance. A great bold design, seldom seen in reprint.
