Chinese Men, 1861 by Yoshitora (active circa 1840 - 1880)

Original Yoshitora (active circa 1840 - 1880) Japanese Woodblock Print
Chinese Men, 1861

Comments - Interesting portrait of two Chinese men, one holding an abacus while the other uses it to count. The fellow at left wears a black jacket and full blue pants tucked into black boots, and a closely fitted black cap. His compatriot wears a red jacket over a green robe and white pants. His braid hangs down over his back, reaching almost to the floor. A great example of Yokohama-e.

Artist - Yoshitora (active circa 1840 - 1880)

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 9 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. A few small wormholes, repaired. Toning, creasing, slight soiling, a few ink marks. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
