Beauties in the Snow at New Years

Comments - Charming scene of three beauties walking through the snow at New Years. The young woman in the center bends down to adjust the strap of her geta clog, a hood wrapped around her head against the cold. She carries branch decorated with lucky objects, a traditional holiday display, including the Lucky God Daikoku's magic mallet. The other women each carry umbrellas as they pause along the water's edge in the falling snow. An attractive design with fine detail in the kimono and obi fabrics, and soft shading in the water and sky.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 13 3/8" x 28 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. A couple losses and holes, slight separation at ends of vertical centerfold in center panel, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and small spots, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
