The Kinuta Jewel River in Settsu Province

Series; Six Jewel Rivers of the Floating World

The Kinuta Jewel River in Settsu Province - Attractive portrait of a beauty standing before an inset in the shape of a Toshidama seal with a view of the Kinuta Jewel River in Settsu Province. She smiles happily as she looks over her shoulder, a roll of tissues in one hand and the other tucked beneath her gray and blue floral kimono. Her brown obi reverses to green with a delicate scroll pattern. Above, a fulling block for pounding cloth rests on a straw mat on the shore of the Kinuta River. The Toshidama seal was used by artists of the Utagawa School, of which Kunisada was a member. A bold design from a rarely seen beauty series.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 5/8" x 9 5/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A couple small diagonal folds at corners. Slight toning and soiling, a few small marks and creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
