Original Goro Kumagai (born 1932) Japanese Woodblock Print
Catch from the Sea

Comments - Terrific modern abstracted design featuring a stylized fish between repeated shapes, set against a beautifully textured gray and white background. Lovely, sophisticated color combines with varied textures to create an intriguing print. Goro Kumagai is known for his striking semi-abstract prints inspired by still-life subjects. Mounted along the top edge to a blank card. This design came in with a series of prints used as holiday cards by the Yoseido Gallery of Tokyo, so it likely has the same provenance. A great choice for a collector of modern Japanese prints.

Artist - Goro Kumagai (born 1932)

Image Size - 5 7/8" x 3 7/8 + margins as shown; card 7" x 5"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Mounted along top edge to blank card, could be removed. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
