Serving Refreshments on New Year's Day - Lovely triptych of upper-class beauties relaxing in a richly furnished palace room on New Year's Day. A woman in a beautiful red-orange kimono patterned with delicately embossed white peonies carries in a tray of refreshments while the other two beauties wait quietly. A plum branch covered with white blossoms sits in vase on a low lacquer stand at center, and a brazier with a design of cranes flying over waves rests on the floor at right. An attractive design with beautiful embossed detail in the white kimono fabric and trim and burnishing in the black kimono.
