Mirror of Today's Pictures - Handsome design from Tokyokuni III's series "Mirror of Today's Pictures," which features portraits of kabuki actors as reflected in oval mirrors with elegant black lacquer frames. Pieces of tie-dyed and print fabrics are tucked around the edges of each frame, with gray and yellow confetti-like dots scattered across the background and a verse above. These expressive figures are beautifully colored and detailed, with fine line work in the hair. A colorful and seldom-seen kabuki series in an interesting format.

Condition - This print with good color and detail as shown. Paper remnants on reverse at top corners from previous mounting. Small loss at corner, small tears at edges, hole, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing, a few faint stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
