Gripping his sword upright, he charges ahead despite the bullets streaking across the night sky. Several soldiers crawl along the ground behind him, while a Chinese enemy lies dead at right. The fighting continues outside a fortress at upper right, partially obscured by billowing smoke. At upper left, misty clouds drift across a full moon in the dark sky. A handsome composition with touches of burnishing in the uniforms and fine bokashi shading in the background.
