Beauties and Children in a Mansion, 1858

Comments - Interesting scene of beauties and children gathered in a mansion, enjoying a variety of activities. At lower left, a kneeling woman places a mochi (rice cake) onto a piece of paper to serve a child. On the verandah above, a beauty helps dress a young girl, tying a sash around her waist. At center right, another woman displays a picture to a group. The room overlooks a view of Shinobazu Pond, with paper lanterns hanging from the eaves above. A charming design, nicely detailed.
