Comments - Fantastic illustration of an exposition held in Japan at the Taisenden Hall of Yushima Seido, a former Confucian temple. The display opened to the public on March 10, 1872, and 150,000 people attended during the thirty days that it was open. Stuffed specimens of animals, birds, and fish are arranged on shelves, including a peacock and a porcupine. The top shelf holds small paintings and objects, alongside bones and a globe. A great historic image with marvelous detail.
