Sadanobu III's National Dances - Sadanobu III's handsome series "National Dances" features kabuki actors in character performing some of Japan's most well-known traditional dances. These attractive designs are beautifully detailed with colorful costumes, delicate line work, and expressive faces. The figures are wonderfully suited to the narrow tanzaku or "poem slip" format, a traditional Japanese form dating back hundreds of years. Some include deluxe techniques such as embossing, burnishing, or soft bokashi shading. A great series capturing the drama and elegance of these classic performances.
