Prince Genji Viewing Cherry Blossoms

Comments - Attractive triptych depicting Prince Genji on an outing to view cherry blossoms in the evening. He grins happily as he looks up, an attendant at left carrying a lantern decorated with butterflies. At right, a beauty serves as his sword bearer, holding the weapon upright. A border of clouds separates the figures from a lovely view of a garden pond surrounded with cherry trees covered with pink and white blossoms. Nicely detailed with embossing in the cherry blossoms. A charming subject.
