Young Nobleman at a Temple Gate, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of a young nobleman standing at a temple entrance gate, looking over his shoulder with a smile as a servant crouches behind him. He wears a gray kamishimo over a green kimono patterned with irises and flowing water on the sleeves, his hair pulled back into a thick topknot. Nicely composed.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 13 1/4" x 9 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Slight toning, creasing, and soiling, rubbing at edges, slight paper remnant, curling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
