Original Kunichika (1835 - 1900) Japanese Woodblock Print
Grinning Man

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of a grinning man leaning over a low black lacquer table or desk, resting his chin on his hand. His hair is cropped short in the latest Meiji fashion, and he wears an embossed white kimono shaded with yellow, a message tucked inside his robe. A nice large expressive figure, detailed with fine line work in the hair and burnishing on the desk.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Small hole, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and stains at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
