Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Chanter and Musician

Comments - Interesting kabuki print showing a chanter and a musician playing the shamisen to accompany a performance. They sit behind a low railing, the blue sliding panels behind them pattern with white cherry blossoms. A text panel below takes the form of an open book. A handsome and unusual design.

Artist - Meiji era artist (unsigned)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top corners and top center from previous mounting. Creasing, slight soiling, stain. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
