Tsukudajima from Eitai Bridge

Series; One Hundred Views of Edo

Tsukudajima from Eitai Bridge - Handsome view of Tsukudajima or Tsukuda Island, framed by a wooden pillar of the Eitai Bridge at left and the oar and prow of a boat at right. Ships are anchored for the evening at right, and at left, red flames glow in the fire baskets of the fishermen just setting out. The moon glows and stars twinkle in the dark night sky. An attractive design from an interesting perspective, nicely detailed with fine bokashi shading in the water and sky.
