Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Natsume Shirasaburo, 1851

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Natsume Shirasaburo, kneeling just inside a doorway. He tilts his head as he listens, holding his hand out as if motioning for someone to wait. A lantern on a bamboo pole swings above his head, and the doorway curtains at upper right feature delicately embossed blossoms. Nice detail in the interior setting.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight separation at end of vertical centerfold, thinning spot at edge, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
