Beauty with an Umbrella Kakemono

Comments - Lovely kakemono or vertical diptych of a beauty strolling with an umbrella in hand. She looks over her shoulder with a rather dismayed expression, her mouth slightly agape. She wears a checked kimono tied with a green geometric print obi, and tall red geta clogs with spotted straps. Her hair is pulled back into two knots, adorned with a comb and hairpins, one decorated with a gourd and the other with an intricate floral medallion with beaded fringe. A charming image we've never before offered, also in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 29 1/4" x 9 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. Small loss, a few wormholes, repaired. Toning, creasing, slight soiling, a few marks. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
