Comments - Charming scene of the Meiji and Empress and members of the court enjoying cherry blossoms in spring. In the center, ladies-in-waiting accompany the empress as she strolls along the embankment beneath the flowering trees, an attendant sheltering her with an umbrella. Two beauties follow behind, escorting the young prince by the hands. At left, the emperor watches from a boat, and Mt. Fuji can be seen in the distance. A lovely design, nicely detailed with embossing in the pink under robes, and fine bokashi shading in the sky.
