The Chofu Jewel River in Musashi Province, circa 1835 - Six Jewel Rivers Pillar Prints - Handsome design from a Hiroshige series depicting Japan's famous Six Jewel Rivers, in an unusual pillar print format. The designs are nicely detailed with verses near the top and fine bokashi shading in the background. A classic Japanese subject, also in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Artist - Hiroshige (1797 - 1858)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 4 7/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few wormholes and thinning spots, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing at top edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
