Preparing to Play the Koto - Lovely image of an elegant beauty preparing to play the koto, her two companions nearby. She wears a colorful purple outer kimono with a design with splashing waves and waterwheels over a red and orange butterfly patterned robe, her hair decorated with an elegant ornament. At right, an exquisite lacquer furniture stacks of books and a bundle of scrolls on various shelves. Gorgeous color in the sumptuous kimono fabrics, with embossed patterns in the white collars of the robes, and burnishing in the hair and the lacquer stand. A beautiful print of upper-class ladies enjoying a favorite pastime.
