Japan's One Hundred Poets - Handsome portrait of one of Japan's famous "One Hundred Poets." The origin for this popular woodblock subject comes from an anthology of one hundred Japanese waka poems by one hundred poets, compiled in the thirteenth century during the Heian era. Each nicely detailed figure is accompanied by the poet's famous verse. An interesting and classic Japanese subject.
