Shiba Great Gate (Shiba Daimon), 1926 - Interesting view of the Shiba Daimon or Shiba Great Gate on a rainy day, a bicyclist riding through the entrance. The sides of the red gate are plastered with the remnants of senjafuda (thousand shrine tags), slips of paper or stickers posted by worshippers visiting the shrine. Raindrops slant across the blue-gray sky, and the water on the surface of the street produces shimmering reflections. An interesting composition with a very urban feel, framed by a tile topped wall in the foreground and a telephone pole. Nicely colored with fine bokashi shading.
