Original Kyosai (1831 - 1889) Japanese Woodblock Print
Lucky Gods Daikoku and Ebisu

Comments - Interesting triptych depicting Daikoku and Ebisu, two of Japan's famous Seven Lucky Gods. Daikoku sits at left, leaning against his bag of never-ending treasure and shaking his magic mallet overhead as he grins happily. At right, Ebisu leans over an abacus atop a stack of open books, a brush caught between his teeth as he concentrates. His basket of fish and a fishing pole are shown beside him, and a young woman kneels at his side, giggling into her red kimono sleeve. Nicely drawn with lively calligraphic line work and detailed with cloth embossing in the bag and Ebisu's white tunic.

Artist - Kyosai (1831 - 1889)

Image Size - 28 5/8" x 13 3/4"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three separate panels. Some rubbing and soiling. A few creases and wrinkles. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
