Hiroshige’s Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido - In 1832, Hiroshige first traveled from his home in Edo (Tokyo) to Kyoto along the Tokaido road. The journey was an eye opening and life changing experience for him. As an urban man of Edo he had experienced life mainly in the capital. He immediately returned to Edo after the trip and began his masterwork woodblock series from the sketches he had made on his journey. Hiroshige's Tokaido prints are an opportunity to be transported back in time to see this world as Hiroshige did in the shadow of the Tokugawa Shogunate.

Hashiguchi Goyo Reprints - Hashiguchi Goyo is one of the most famous and admired artists of 20th century Japanese woodblocks. Often called the "Taisho Utamaro," Goyo published this masterful set of reprints as an homage to his Edo era predecessor. Released in 1920, shortly before Goyo's death, these are indisputably the finest Utamaro reprints ever produced. Sparing no expense in production, these prints feature finely embossed details and shimmering mica accents that truly distinguish them from lesser reproductions.

These prints are considered some of the rarest and most valuable reprints on the market. As the production numbers for this series was quite low, they are almost impossible to find on the market today. This is an excellent opportunity for serious collectors as we are unlikely to come across another group of these oban Goyo reprints in such fine condition. Bid or buy now!

Morning Mist at Mishima - Wonderful Hiroshige Tokaido print of the Mishima station on a cool, misty morning. Two bearers carry a man in a palanquin, followed by a man on horseback and his attendant, who is wrapped in a straw mat. The silhouetted village and figures are rendered in soft tones of blue gray, with no black key block outline, an unusual technique that adds to the atmospheric setting. A beautiful design.
