Hawks from Tango Province

Series; Celebrated Products of Mountains and Seas, 1852

Hawks from Tango Province - Charming portrait of a beauty drinking a tiny blue and white ceramic cup of tea, grinning happily as she looks back over her shoulder. She wears a blue striped kimono over a red under robe with a blue collar, her hair pulled back into a smooth knot adorned with a couple of hairpins and a small comb, a few loose wisps framing her face. The inset above shows a net stretched beneath pine trees to capture hawks in Tango Province. An attractive design with fine line work in the hair.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Tiny tear at edge, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
