The Great Battle of Ishibashiyama, 1856

Comments - Great image of the Taira general Oba Saburo Kagechika at the Battle of Ishibashiyama, where he fought against Minamoto no Yoritomo and won. He sits astride a dappled horse, gripping a naginata and grimacing as he looks over his shoulder. Waves crash against the rocky shore behind him, and arrows litter the ground. A terrific design, nicely colored and detailed.

Artist - Yoshikazu (active circa 1850 - 1870)

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 9 3/4" + top margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few pinpoint holes, not noticeable. Slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
