Series; Outer Chiyoda Palace (Chiyoda no on-omote)

Shogun Viewing Noroshi - From one of the gate towers of Edo castle, the shogun and his advisers observe the testing of noroshi or signal fires in nearby Edo Bay. The circular inset shows the launch tower for the explosives, with a paper lantern bearing the inscription "official use." A terrific composition and excellent choice for the collector interested in these old samurai and shogun prints.

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three separate panels. Backed with old paper. Some light soiling or toning at edges. A few small smudges or stains in subject. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
