Comments - Fantastic set of three woodblock postcard prints by Wada Sanzo of landscapes featuring G. I.s during the occupation of Japan following WWII. One image shows soldiers on duty at Hibaya Junction in Tokyo under falling snow. The second print shows a ship at Hakata Pier with Japanese returning home, and the third features G.I.s in uniform on Sanjo Bridge in Kyoto. The prints come with the original folder, titled "Wood-cut Print Sketches of G. I. in New Japan complemented by Sanzo Wada, Collection 1." Issued by Miho Shobo, Hakata, Japan, and printed by Kyoto Hanga in. A fantastic souvenir of post-WWII Japan. Would make an interesting addition to any modern print collection.
