The Tale of the Forty-Seven Ronin - The fantastic tale and adventure of the Forty-Seven Ronin immediately captured the imagination of the Japanese public. Not two weeks after the culmination of the event, stories and plays were already being written about the bravery and loyalty of the Forty-Seven Ronin. Almost a hundred years later, prints artists of the 19th century seized on the enduring fascination with the Tale of the Forty-Seven Ronin and produced lavish print sets of the story and the forty-seven brave men from the tale. Kuniyoshi's series "The Faithful Samurai" is an absolute masterwork and considered the ultimate 47 Ronin series among collectors and scholars alike. Few other print makers ever matched Kuniyoshi's detail and artistry.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few small wormholes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few prints have a couple light creases or slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Generally in good condition overall.
