Courtesan and Angry Man, 1888

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of the courtesan Yatsuhashi and a man beneath a blossoming cherry tree. He scowls up at her angrily, his arms firmly folded across his chest and tucked into the sleeves of his striped kimono. From left, the actors are Nakamura Fukusuke III and Ichikawa Sadanji I. The figures are nicely set off by a red background. Detailed with fine line work in the hair.

Artist - Kunisada III (1848 - 1920)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Horizontal crease. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
