Series; The New Biography of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, 1883

Grappling Warriors Falling Over a Cliff, 1883 - Fantastic scene of the warriors Yamaji Shogen and Kato Toranosuke locked in combat, falling over the edge of a cliff during the Battle of Sengatake. One samurai's helmet has caught on the branch of a flowering tree as he plunges over the hillside, grabbing his opponent by the throat. A warrior on horseback watches from the left, unable to assist, the battle continuing behind him. An incredible design with lively color and terrific detail in the armor and dramatic natural setting.
