Series; Snow, Moon and Flowers of the Floating World

Flowers Kakemono, circa 1844 - Lovely kakemono or vertical diptych of a young beauty composing a verse as she stands beneath a flowering cherry tree as blossoms and petals drift down over the evening sky. She looks up with a smile as she pauses, a brush in one hand and a poem slip in the other. She wears a gray kimono with a design of flowers and scrolls, trimmed with a brown tie-dyed print and tied with a brocade obi. Her hair is pulled back into a sleek bun, adorned with a brown lacquer comb, ribbons, a floral hairpin, and a hairpin with a miniature umbrella and tasseled bow. A charming beauty subject from a rarely seen series.

Image Size - 28 1/4" x 9 3/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. Toning, slight soiling, a few creases and small spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
