Comments - Wonderful design of a young woman walking alongside porters carrying hina dolls and decorations for the Girls' Day Festival. The beauty carries an elegant black lacquer box tied with red cord, and wears a blue floral print kimono. A charming kuchi-e illustration for the novel "Hinazukai" (Doll Messenger). This image appears on page 154 of Helen Merritt and Nanako Yamada's recent book, "Woodblock Kuchi-e Prints: Reflections of Meiji Culture."

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal and vertical folds. Small loss at bottom edge, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing, a few spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
