Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Patron Deity of Sericulture

Comments - Interesting image of a figure of the patron deity of sericulture in Japan. She holds a mulberry branch in one hand, and a sheet of paper with silkworm eggs on it. She wears long flowing robes and red shoes, and her long hair is topped with an ornate headdress featuring a phoenix and beaded fringe. A handsome and unusual design.

Artist - Meiji era artist (unsigned)

Image Size - 14 7/8" x 9 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few tears at edges, repaired. Creasing, slight toning and soiling, writing in ink on reverse. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
