Fierce Battle at Kagoshima

Comments - Dramatic scene from the Satsuma Rebellion of a fierce battle at Kagoshima. In the center, a rebel general charges ahead on horseback as shots streak across the sky, waving his sword high as his horse rears. The Imperial Army rushes forward at left, brandishing their swords at the horseman. At right, a samurai is engulfed in smoke as he is hit, tumbling backwards as he yells out. Below him, a wounded rebel leans heaving on his sword for support. The battlefield is chaotic with clouds of smoke everywhere. A lively scene with expressive figures.
