Meiji Emperor Reviewing Troops, 1887

Comments - Handsome triptych showing the Meiji Emperor on horseback, reviewing the troops on a large parade ground. He sits astride a white horse, surrounded by other officers on horseback dressed in black uniforms and caps with feathers on top. At left, an officer leads the way carrying a flag featuring the Meiji Imperial chrysanthemum crest, with rows of soldiers standing crisply at attention at left. A modern multi-story building towers above the horizon in the distance. Beautifully printed and detailed, with burnishing in the black uniforms.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Faint horizontal centerfold. Slight toning, a few small spots and light creases. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
