Sekigahara: Hanaregoma Chokichi and Nuregami Chogoro, 1852 - Dramatic scene of the sumo wrestlers Chokichi and Nuregami Chogoro in combat. The fellow in the foreground raises a ladder above his hand with both hands, ready to use it as a weapon. His opponent stands with his arms spread out at his sides, looking in the opposite direction. The ground is littered with pieces of wood and rubble, and people are gathered on the rooftops at left watching the battle, the night sky dotted with stars. An inset above shows travelers making their way across a mountain at Sekigahara. A fantastic design with a dynamic composition. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few small thinning spots, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a couple creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
