Series; Wives of the Tokugawa Shoguns

Wife of Tokugawa Ieyoshi, No. 12 - Beautiful scene of Takako, who married Tokugawa Ieyoshi at the age of fifteen, admiring the cherry blossoms with her attendant. The trees are covered in clouds of pink blooms, producing a lovely landscape setting for the portrait. Fine detail in the hair styles and delicate embossing on the white kimono fabric. The metallic pigment in the circular motifs on the beauty's robe has oxidized to a gray tone. An attractive image from this interesting series.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. A couple binding holes, small hole, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
