The Battle of Takadachi, 1856

Comments - Fantastic depiction of the Battle of Takadachi in Mutsu Province of the warrior monk Benkei single-handedly knocking out a row of enemies with a swing of his naginata. He grips his weapon above his head with both hands, a determined grimace on his face as he steps on the neck of another opponent. At right, a samurai caught on the blade tumbles through the air, taking out other warriors as he goes. The fighting takes place outside a castle complex, with a bridge over the moat leading to the entrance gate in the center. A fantastic design filled with action, nicely detailed.
