Clinging to a Rock - Dramatic kabuki triptych showing a startled couple discovering a man who has fallen into the sea, clinging to a rock. The beauty waves her hands in alarm and her companion gestures excitedly, trying to decide how best to rescue him. A sword is stuck through the trunk of the pine tree behind him, and the two travelers have abandoned their hat and parcels on the rocky pathway overlooking the water. A terrific scene with expressive figures and a lovely view of Mt. Fuji in the distance. A great composition with wonderful detail in the intricate tie-dyed pattern of the beauty's cotton kimono and fine wood grain impression.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 29 1/4"
