Toeizan Temple at Ueno, early- to mid-1840s - Beautiful winter view of Toeizan Temple at Ueno, with a heavy snow blanketing the buildings and trees. A few visitors brave the cold, carrying umbrellas and hurrying through the wind as they cross the courtyard. Large flakes of snow fall gently against the wintry gray sky. A very attractive design with soft shading in the ground and sky. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.
