Famous Places in Tokyo: Kudan Sakagami Yasukuni Shrine, 1880

Comments - Charming design of the Meiji Empress and her ladies-in-waiting visiting Kudan Sakagami Yasukuni Shrine, walking under a large wooden torii gate draped with sacred ropes called shimenawa. The women all wear patterned robes over white kimono tucked into red hakama pants, one sheltering the empress with Western style umbrella. Uniformed soldiers stand guard at right next to an ornate monument. An attractive scene, nicely detailed.

Image Size - 14" x 19 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. A few small holes, repaired. Slight creasing and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
