Comments - Charming triptych illustrating the time-honored Japanese tea ceremony. The beauty at left kneels beside a floor brazier heating a pot of water, holding a bamboo dipper. A tea caddy, bowl, whisk, and wiping cloth are carefully set out on the floor nearby. The three guests watch the ceremony quietly, sitting respectfully with their hands in their laps. They wear beautifully detailed formal kimono and brocade obi. A folding screen with a design of Mt. Fuji hides a stand holding additional implements at left, and the room opens onto a view outside with a lantern hanging at left and leafy branches framing the sky. An attractive design, nicely detailed with touches of burnishing and soft shading.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Vertical fold. Slight paper remnants on reverse from previous backing. Thinning at edges, small hole, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases and small marks, slight thinning. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
